Maybe They're Just Visiting The Rats

Officials do not know why there's been an increase in the number of people who are going onto the tracks in the New York subway system, but that's the case. Some are down there to pee, some to retrieve something they dropped, some are trying to commit suicide, and some are drunk or high. Occasionally, someone gets pushed down there. New York leads the world in this, by far. And when it happens, it causes delays for hours. Walls and doors on the platforms could solve this, but that would cost over a billion dollars that the MTA doesn't have. So, what to do? (New York Times)
