Maybe They Should Trade Down To Weedwhacker Parenting
-
Helicopter parents? So 2017. The new label is "Lawnmower Parents," the idea being that some parents "mow down" all challenges and problems before their kids have to deal with them, leaving the kids unprepared to be adults. It came from a post at a website for teachers and has become a thing, with examples including one high school parent who asked a teacher to walk her kid to class to make sure the student wouldn't be late, another who asked that someone in the cafeteria blow on their kid's lunch to make sure it wasn't too hot... where is the line between just helping and being actually damaging to the child?
