Army MREs -- food that lasts a long time in the field without refrigeration -- are usually pretty disgusting, especially things like meat. But they may have finally found something the troops won't mind eating: pizza, specifically a Sicilian slice that can stay fresh and edible for 36 months. This has been the Holy Grail of MREs for years, and they think they've gotten it right, or at least right enough. Would you eat a three-year-old slice of pizza? How hungry would you have to be for that? (New York Times)
