I'll Have Two Pounds Of Brats, A Pretzel, And A Grisham To Go

How one small bookstore managed to stay alive in a small German town: wurst and bread. What? See, the local baker and local butcher were facing higher rent and smaller revenue, so the book store, also struggling, suggested they share space, selling baked goods and sausages right there in the book shop. And it worked: People come in for bread and pick up a book or magazine, too. Could this be the answer? Should Barnes and Noble merge with Aldi or someone? (New York Times)
