Basically, Niedermeyer And Marmalard

The thing about the tidbit from the Kavanaugh case that involved all the boys at his prep school calling themselves "Renate Alumni" in their yearbook to boast about sex with one particular girl is that it crystallizes why I don't see Kavanaugh as the angelic, perfect Boy Scout his supporters do and how they'd like you to see him now. No, he was one of those a-hole prep kids I couldn't stand in college, the spoiled rich kids who thought everything was theirs for the taking because they were rich white WASP legacies whose lives would be lived among the elites. They were misogynist jackasses back then, too. It's a type. And judging by this story and all the other yearbook entries and descriptions of Kavanaugh, it's all a reminder that until now, they were right: The world DOES act like they deserve to be above the law, above propriety, above the rest of us. Is it fair for me to assign all that to him? Maybe, maybe not (I think it is), but it's something I know some people think that is underplayed in the coverage. (The New York Times)
