Wouldn't Be A Problem If Designers Would Just Put Pockets In Women's Fashions
-
This short crime item about thieves who are stealing wallets from women dining at restaurants in Glendale, CA is a reminder in one way of male privilege. If you're a guy, you're likely not carrying a purse or pocketbook. If you DO carry a purse or pocketbook, you gotta put it someplace, and most women either hang them on the backs of their chairs or put them on the floor by their feet. The latter is a better idea; the former is how they're stolen, because you'll never see the thief slip in there. But women shouldn't have to fear that. (KCBS-TV/Los Angeles)
