They Can't Even Screen It To Get Rid Of Junk Mail

In light of the pipe bombs, you might be wondering whether the U.S. Postal Service screens your mail for explosives and anthrax and stuff. The answer: Mostly no. They do have a specific program called the Dangerous Mail Investigations Program that deals with suspicious packages, but the packages are deemed suspicious only if a postal employee sees them and decides they look odd. Some, but not all, facilities have special equipment to sniff out chemicals and explosives. But for the most part, we're all on our own. (WRTV/Indianapolis)
