As Long As We Can Still Get The Peanut Butter Ones
-
When I was a kid growing up in that region, salt water taffy was a special treat, a souvenir of your visits to the Jersey Shore, and there were two candy stores where you'd go and get taffy, Fralinger's and James. The company that owns both just filed for bankruptcy, though they say they'll remain in business and are optimistic about the future. But salt water taffy isn't what it used to be; it's grandma's candy, like Werther's or Mary Janes. If you put salt water taffy out for kids, they'll probably skip it. What other treats did you love as a kid that don't appeal to today's youth? (WPVI-TV/Philadelphia)
