I'm Assuming They Don't Offer Room Service, Either
-
Most people would count themselves lucky not to have experienced Bosnia's 1992-95 war. Some people... well, there's a hotel that simulates what it was like to live through the war, with the sounds of gunfire and mattresses on the floor. One room is a windowless dungeon. Why would you want to... well, okay, it's part of a movement called "dark tourism," in which people go to places where the worst of humanity happened, from Dealey Plaza to Auschwitz and you get the idea and I still can't imagine why people would want to experience the feeling of being under fire. History's one thing, but a sleepless night cowering in a dark room doesn't sound like anything you'd want to deal with. (New York Times)
