In one Sammamish, WA neighborhood, someone spray-painted messages that included racial slurs -- "CYA SOON (redacted)." And then, a week later, they came back and spray-painted "SORRY." I guess they were saying "we're using that term as an endearment rather than hate." (There was something else scrawled that read "NOT HATE, JUST" but the next word wasn't legible.) That's probably not enough of a mea culpa, but it does show at least a little self-awareness. (KIRO-TV/Seattle)
