No, You Can't Use Coors Light As A Weed Killer
-
A study by PIRG says that they found traces of glyphosate, an alleged cancer-causing substance from weed killer, in beer and wine. These are trace amounts and, no, this doesn't mean beer and wine have enough glyphosate to cause cancer. They're not saying that. They ARE saying that they know the brewers and wineries are NOT using Roundup or other weed killers, which means that if the stuff can find its way into beer and wine, it is probably at much more dangerous levels in food made with crops from where they DO use the weed killers. That's not good, is it? (For their part, Bayer/Monsanto claims that glyphosate doesn't cause cancer. If that's the case, maybe their CEO can make a public appearance and spray RoundUp on lunch for a week, because, you know, it's not harmful.) (CBS News)
