All Work And No Play, Outlawed
-
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is proposing a law to require all employers to offer at least ten days of paid vacation per year, pro-rated for part-timers. Small businesses say they can't afford that. But having no paid vacation -- penalizing workers for taking a day off -- is pretty cruel. Should it be a law? Because while you could say, well, if you don't like it, get another job, that assumes it's easy to just up and quit and get another job with vacation. (And try doing that without any days off.)
