Volkswagen's CEO probably should know better than to say anything that recalls a Nazi slogan, but he does not, and so Herbert Diess is apologizing for saying "EBIT Macht Frei" at a company event, which is a financial twist on "Arbeit Macht Frei," which I should not have to explain to you is infamous. Considering Volkswagen's origin story, it's particularly egregious. But nobody said you have to be smart or moral to become a CEO. (BBC)
