How Much Is A Well Done Steak With Ketchup?
-
President Trump was in my neighborhood Friday night, having dinner at his golf course, and other than a few military helicopters overhead (one of which ferried him to and from the dinner), you wouldn't have noticed much amiss. I wasn't invited -- how neighborly they are! -- but our city council was, and Rupert Murdoch, and other folks, but that's not the topic (although you COULD talk about whether you'd go even if you despise Trump, just to say you went to dinner with the President. I wouldn't, but that's just me, and maybe 70% of America...). The topic is this: The Trump Organization made guests pay for their meals. You had to pay for your food. This is a two-fold thing: The Trump Organization doesn't miss a chance to make money off everyone, and you know people pay to stay at Trump hotels and eat at Trump restaurants and play golf at Trump courses to get on a list showing that they paid, er, tribute to Trump, and maybe that'll make a difference if they need a favor or a job from the administration later. We know about all the foreign governments and domestic businesses spending big bucks to stay at the Trump hotel in D.C. Emoluments, anyone? (Washington Post)
