A storm's coming? Tornadoes in the region? On TV, they'll show you maps so you can tell if you're in the line of fire. One problem: Research shows a LOT of people can't find their own location on a map. James Spann, the meteorologist for WBRC-TV in Birmingham, has been battling that on social media, calling for people to learn how to read maps and find their homes on them. Should this be taught in schools? How can people not be able to use a map? (Washington Post)
