If You Don't Want Attention, Don't Be So Thirsty For It

It's... wait, let me check the calendar... yes, it's April, but that's not too early for one neighborhood right near mine to be planning for Christmas. There's a reason for that. Every Christmas season, the locals drench their neighborhood in lights, another "Candy Cane Lane" thing, and every season, tourists overrun the area. Every single area of America has this problem. This neighborhood in south Torrance is working now to figure out how to avoid chaos. Hey, here's an idea: Don't have every home in a neighborhood do a Can You Top This? job of decorating. Since that's not going to happen, I suppose banning the food trucks who showed up last year and blocked the streets is one thing they can do. Or banning things like the flatbed truck with lawn chairs and a fire pit that crawled along the route last year. (Daily Breeze, Torrance)
