I Was One Of The Very Few Who Actually LIKED The Hero Burger

Dead: Baltimore Colts legend Gino Marchetti, defensive end, feared pass rusher. That's not why we have his obit, and the early versions of the obit in the Baltimore Sun (I assume it'll be updated and complete by the time this posts) don't mention the real reason he'll be remembered by generations of mid-Atlantic residents, either. The thing for which he'll be remembered by many people who don't even follow football is that he was a partner in, and namesake of, the Gino's fast food chain that was a major player from North Jersey to Virginia in the '60s through '80s. Gino's was where you got Kentucky Fried Chicken, and burgers, too, and the original stands had Gino Marchetti's full name on the facade. For that alone, he will always be revered, because, as the jingle seared in my brain said, "Everybody goes to Gino's, 'cause Gino's is the place to go!" (Baltimore Sun)
