Seattle is the latest city requiring bars, restaurants, and stadiums with TVs to turn on closed captioning so deaf people can understand what's going on. If you're not deaf and you think this doesn't affect you, it does, in a good way: Those screens are almost always muted. This way, you'll be able to follow what the announcers and the people on the screen are saying. In fact, I don't know why all bars and restaurants haven't been turning on the closed captioning already, law or no law, just for that purpose. (Seattle Times)
