But It's The Internet! You Can Say ANYTHING There!
-
It's very simple: Facebook and Twitter are no different from any other venue. If you say something imputing illegality to someone without proof, you will get sued for libel. And so it is for a pizza joint in Knoxville, the owner of which thought it wise to post something on Facebook and Twitter calling a local marketing firm crooks and claimed that it had stolen its e-mail list. And the marketing firm is suing. There's something about Facebook and Twitter that seems to delude people into thinking that wht they post there isn't being seen by the world. Thanks to Frank Murphy at WWST (Star 102.1)/Knoxville for the link.
