Like Those Facebook Personality Tests, Only You Pay Them, Too

It's amazing, actually, that so many people are not only willing to hand their DNA over to private companies for testing, but that they PAY to do it. You'd have to be of the mind that that anything you get from those tests is worth potentially giving insurance companies access to your results and charging you more or dropping you because of something they find, or handing your DNA over to law enforcement to match against their cold-case database. Some of the DNA testing companies have privacy rules that are supposed to guard against that, but can you be sure? And some are cooperating with law enforcement or selling your data to drug makers. Is "ooh, I'm 0.00000001% Norwegian!" worth that? (Global News)
