Silicon Valley money is behind a huge push for voting by phone apps. The many ways this is a very bad idea are obvious, but there are tech bros whose profits are riding on it, so it may be coming anyway. Denver and West Virginia are already on board. The hackability, the privacy issues... they're nothing to the guys who have money invested and say that it's the only way to guarantee more people turn out to vote. That it comes at the same time that the FBI is admitting that the Russians hacked votes in two Florida counties and after we all seemed to agree that paper ballots are probably a good thing is, well, interesting.
