All I Want To Know Is If It's Covered By My Health Insurance
-
It's a real thing: The World Health Organization has officially recognized burn-out as a medical condition. It's specifically related to work and it's defined as "1) feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; 2) increased mental distance from one's job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job; and 3) reduced professional efficacy." Recognize any of this? UPDATE: After we all reacted, the WHO reversed course, sort of, changing its assessment from "medical condition" to "occupational phenomenon." So I guess it's not officially a medical condition after all. And I guess my insurance WON'T cover it. (Agence France-Presse via CTV News)
