At Least It's Not 4 AM

While it's not a bad thing in general to hear "The Star-Spangled Banner," you might not want to hear it full blast every day at 8 am from an unknown source. And then, 12 hours later, "Retreat" on a bugle, also loud as hell. That's what happened for a few days in the coastal towns of northern Orange County, and nobody could figure out where it was coming from. Turns out that it was coming from the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station because their regular, lower powered sound system was out of commission, so they used their emergency system, which can blast out sound at long range. Whoops. Some people like it, though, and want it to keep going. Others are a little disturbed by it. Could you deal with it? (Orange County Register)
