My Time's Worth More Than $15 For Two Hours... What? They Want ME To Pay THEM?
-
The New York Times' long piece interviewing several Hollywood luminaries on the future of movies is largely navel-gazing, but in light of the slightly disappointing box office for "Toy Story 4," the question of whether the industry's reliance on sequels and franchises and reboots has blown off too much of the paying audience is worth considering, and it could be an easy and good topic for you to ask listeners what it takes for them to leave the house, pay the too-high ticket prices, and see movies in theaters? Are those days ending? And are tastes changing, too? Because teens might prefer watching YouTube and Instagram videos of people doing nothing to sitting in a multiplex watching superheroes.
