He was a respected member of the community, a firefighter for 25 years, a husband and father. And he's dead, and the people who knew him are shocked to discover that it was from overdosing on stolen drugs he took from the back of an ambulance. He had unique access to the drugs -- he was the overseer, he had the ability to divert the drugs without anyone else knowing, and the temptation was too much. Which is something to talk about: You have no idea who's addicted and who isn't, and you might not know how powerful addiction is. Stories like this, in which someone's addiction goes unnoticed and unknown by even the people closest to him, are an example of how insidious the disease can be. (WFTV/Orlando)
