Not In Their Front Yard

We've been over L.A.'s homeless problem before, and homeless problems all across the country and the world. But if you're trying to run a business in an area where the homeless decide they'll put up their tents, what can you do? Calling the city won't make a difference, so this guy joined a growing list of downtown L.A. businesses that are putting planters and fences on the sidewalk to make less or no room for tent cities to pop up. The homeless are not pleased, but they seem to understand what's going on. The city says you can't do that, but they're not exactly rushing to enforce the law. And there's still no consensus on how to solve the homeless problem, so can you give a business owner a pass for going to extremes? (Los Angeles Times)
