Doubling Down On This Kind Of Stuff Seems To Work For The Orange Guy, Anyway

More racist stuff is happening in Toms River, NJ, where a school board member posted anti-Muslim things on Facebook, including saying his "life would be complete" if Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and other Muslims would die, and a "Sharia Barbie" racist meme. His response to calls for his ouster: He's refusing to apologize and refusing to resign, and as for the former, he wouldn't be capable of a sincere apology at this point anyway, and on the latter, well, he should go, but he and his supporters -- yes, he has some, maybe some of you -- are saying that it's a First Amendment issue. Yes, he has the right to say racist things. He does NOT have the right to be insulated from any consequences of saying racist things. Also, his response on Facebook was poorly phrased and replete with incorrect punctuation and inappropriate capitalization, which raises the question of how illiterate someone has to be to be banished from the school board. He can't even write as well as a middle-schooler. (NJ Advance Media/NJ.com)
