If you're thinking, hey, I remember reading more than one story here about mystery booming sounds heard in towns along the Delaware River, well, we're back with another one. You'll recall that past stories involved people in South Philadelphia hearing booms that may have been from music at a venue in Camden across the river. This time, it goes the other way: People in South Jersey river towns are complaining about loud booming bass all night, and they think that it's all coming from "boom cars," cars tricked out with massive subwoofers booming bass to shake buildings within a several-block radius. You know the ones. They gather -- illegally -- in a parking lot down by the Sports Complex in South Philly at night and blast music at hearing-damaging volume. The cops are trying to figure out how to deal with it; they've tried closing and locking that parking lot, but the cars still showed up and the cops think they'll just find another spot. What can be done? (WCAU-TV/Philadelphia)
