Oh, You Want To Get OFF The Plane? That's An Extra Fee
-
The flight between LAX to SFO takes about an hour and a half, maybe a little less. This one, which was supposed to be in and at the gate at 12:25 am Monday, did land, but then spent 3 hours and 14 minutes on the tarmac. No gates available. The airport and airline claim there was just too much ground traffic. That's really not much of an explanation. All I know is that at some airports -- I've experienced this at Frankfurt -- when there are too many planes, they find a spot out at the edge of the tarmac and have passengers take buses to the terminal, just to keep things moving. At least, while you're waiting, they should serve free food and drink (which they did not). It shouldn't be difficult. (SFGate.com)
