Wait, What's The Catch? There HAS To Be A Catch, Right?

Wait, sit down for this one, because you are NOT going to believe it: It's about a bank, Chase Bank, forgiving all debt owed by its Canadian credit card customers. No, really, they just told all of the customers that their balances are paid in full and that's it. Why? Because they needed to close down their operation in Canada, and the shortest route to that was to tell those holding balances on their two branded cards (Amazon.ca and Marriott Rewards) that because the cards are being shut down, the customers owe nothing. Wow. That would be something that would make me a customer for life, except that they're closing their operations in that country, so it's moot. But, yeah, wow. (CBC)
