Just Send Your Money There And Stay Away
-
We've had several stories in this vein, but it bears repeating: Some towns in Europe are complaining about too many tourists, even if the local economy is largely based on tourism. The problem is that they can't handle the number of people who show up. Too many people for the number of hotels, the traffic, the sanitary facilities... and some of the towns are taken by surprise, like Halstatt, Austria, where a Korean TV series was filmed and which has now become so popular with Asian travelers that a replica of the entire town was built in China. The money's great, but the crowds are a little much. Some towns are instituting tourist fees, and others are just looking for answers. (Washington Post)
