Come to think of it, considering how expensive airport parking is practically everywhere, I would think this situation -- people parking in residential neighborhoods near LAX for free and Ubering to the airport -- would be happening everywhere. You park as close to the airport as you can where the rules allow unlimited street parking, then call an Uber. Technically, that's not quite the case in Westchester, the LAX-adjacent neighborhood, where parking's supposed to be limited to 72 hours, but people know that even if someone calls the cops immediately, the cops take their time, then chalk the tire, then leave, then eventually come back before they'll even put the car on the list for towing. You get more than 72 hours. The locals understandably want something done, but in the meantime, this might be a solution to paying as much for parking as you do on airfare. (KABC-TV/Los Angeles)
