They Don't Have To Put Ads Everywhere, Do They? Please?

New York has banned one of the scourges of daily life: those floating digital billboards that ply the rivers around Manhattan. Miami has them, too, floating just off shore to advertise to beachgoers. They ruin the scenery. The company that does it says it doesn't think the law prevents them from continuing to do what they do, but for now, the law says otherwise. Advertising isn't evil, but putting it in places it doesn't belong is maddening. (New York Times)
