YOU Pay To Be A Beta Tester. I Can Wait
-
I used to buy new phones as soon as they came out, first day, like, midnight Pacific to snag a new iPhone first. Now... well, I still use an iPhone 7, and an older iPad, and I don't rush to buy anything. This column by the New York Times' Brian X. Chen examines why it's a better idea, and becoming more common, for tech adopters to wait rather than rush to buy the latest and greatest. For one thing, the latest may not be the greatest. For another, prices will drop a lot if you wait. Third, you're letting other people find all the problems that the manufacturer will fix by the time you buy. Being a late adopter is probably a better idea for most people. (New York Times)
