Does making workers do extra hours add to productivity? Good thing the research has been done... in World War I. That's when Britain pressed women into work making munitions, and increased hours to try to ramp up production. And all that did, after an initial bump, was to create burnout, with production leveling off. More hours aren't necessarily better for the company, and they're definitely not better for the workers.
