And Some Of Us Are Betting On Riding The City Bus
-
This has happened before: Detroit is betting on big cars, and foreign car makers are going with small sedans with better gas mileage. In the current market, everyone, not just in America, wants an SUV. Sedans are out. But the non-U.S. car makers are betting that we'll see a repeat of the early '70s in which the economy goes south, gas prices increase, and suddenly people want cars that get 35 or more miles per gallon. Others think gas prices will stay low for years. (They're not really low right now, are they? Not in California, at least.) Place your bets. (New York Times)
