You would think that it's unanimous, that everyone can agree that people should not use their cell phones at all during plays and concerts (at least, classical concerts; rock, country, and hip hop concerts are another matter). But it is not unanimous. Some people actually get upset when performers stop the show and tell audience members to turn off their phones, because, the complainers say, it's elitist and anti-Millennial. Banning cell use during, say, a play, well, that's not going to bring in younger audiences used to taking video or texting or chatting at all times, is it? But are all young people so addicted that they can't leave their phones in their pockets for a couple of hours, or is it just a relatively small number of people? (New York Times)
