I'd Rather Buy A Limo, Hire A Driver, And Sit In The Back At A Reasonable Speed
-
I don't know if "too soon" applies here or if it's ever the right time to ask the question, but in light of the reported serious injuries sustained by welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr. in a rollover Ferrari crash in Dallas, and remembering so many crashes from James Dean to Paul Walker, the question is whether some cars are just too powerful for most drivers and whether rich folks who can buy any car they want should be out on the road with cars that are way too easy to crash. That thought came to mind with this story because I live in an area where it's common to see people barreling down the road in Lambos and Ferraris and McLarens and these roads are just not built for those cars. I can understand the desire for the best, and the desire to take a car out and opening it up, but unless you're out on the 10 Freeway past Indio where the road is arrow-straight to the Arizona border and there's little traffic and a high speed limit, it would seem like those cars belong on a track, not local roads. Anyway, is it too early to be talking about that? (KTVT/Dallas)
