Always Not Even A Bridesmaid, Never A Bride

The Washington Nationals' NL pennant means that there's only one MLB franchise to never make it to the World Series: the Seattle Mariners. Question for M's fans and for fans of any team who's made it once and lost or has a long history of futility: How does your team's lack of success reflect on you? Not necessarily epic futility, like, say, the Cleveland Indians and Browns, but those teams that just haven't cleared that last hurdle. If you're, say, a Colorado Rockies fan (one Series, got swept), or a fan of a consistently mediocre franchise, like those teams that make the NBA playoffs as the seventh or eighth seed, how do you stick with them?
