Void Where Prohibited

This column notes how people, especially the elderly, are targeted by fake sweepstakes scams -- "Congratulations, you've won!," followed by endless time-share pitches and no prize -- and it makes me wonder how people are still being scammed in 2019. We all know that these things are out there. But surely someone has to be fooled, or they wouldn't do this. Really, does anyone fall for the dreaded Social Security robocall? How, in 2019, are people still vulnerable to that? (Los Angeles Times)
