In case you assumed that HIPAA prevented just anyone from seeing your medical records and test results, at least one health care provider, Ascension, the second largest, is sharing your data with Google, and it's legal. No, really, they're allowed to share your personal information with business partners without telling you, as long as it's to help them "carry out their health care functions," which is loosely defined. So, um, yeah. They're doing that. And there's nothing to assure you that Google won't do anything with that information you don't want them to do. (Wall Street Journal)
