Hey, Eventually, It'll Be True

The Northern Echo newspaper in northeast England has apologized for running an obituary of local sports enthusiast Charlie Donaghy, mostly because Charlie's not dead. The family says nobody asked them. The paper says its reporters confirmed Charlie's death via three local sports clubs. But the mistake IS understandable, since most papers' obituaries are reported from material submitted by a family member or funeral home, and it's not like they check too deeply. (The Guardian)
