Just Watch Out For The Choppers Over The Inevitable High-Speed Police Chases

It says volumes about how bad traffic is around here that a startup is offering L.A. commuting by airplane for $1,250 a month. "Air taxi." They're putting together a fleet of 9-passenger small planes to hop from small airport to small airport above the hopeless traffic on the 405 and 5 and 10 and all the other parking lots that masquerade as "freeways." It's a loophole for the rich (although commuting five days a week makes it about $30 each way, which is a lot more reasonable-sounding than $1,250) and it's hardly environmentally sound (though it takes 9 cars at a time off the freeways, which helps). But if we're not getting flying cars or jetpacks, this is one way to get above traffic. (KTLA/Los Angeles)
