When the article is headlined "Why we eat so much at Thanksgiving," you'd expect it to just say "because it tastes good" and leave it at that. Apparently, it's more than that; it's about how your brain associates certain flavors with positive memories of holidays past. It's also about how the variety of flavors prompts you to eat more, which is called sensory-specific satiety and it's a documented effect. So it might not be your fault. (But it probably is.)
