Sorry, Sluggo, That Patched Jacket's Gotta Go

Fargo Catholic schools are ignoring parental complaints and sticking to a new dress code that requires kids to wear Tommy Hilfiger uniforms, which are gonna cost them. I'm not really familiar with school uniform stuff -- I never went to a school that had uniforms, and I don't have kids so I don't know what it costs -- but it would seem to me that if the code calls for, like, a plain blue dress shirt and khakis, it would be appropriate to let parents buy whatever they want in those categories, and if it's cheaper to buy Old Navy than Tommy Hilfiger, that's fine. But if the latter costs a lot more and it's mandatory, that's unfair to lower income families, right? (Fargo Forum; Thanks to Jim Walsh at KACL (Cool 98.7)/Bismarck for the link)
