What were we saying the other day about the rising cost of Christmas trees? London got its big tree for Trafalgar Square as a gift from Norway, and maybe they should have looked this particular gift horse in the mouth, since it's... well, let's call it sparse. Seriously, it's so bare you can see through it. Oslo annually sends a big fir to London as thanks for Britain's help during World War II, but this year's edition is being roundly mocked. Aah, just add more tinsel and nobody'll notice the difference. (New York Times)
