It's Not A Store, It's A Penny Stock Market
-
It's another Kickstarter fiasco, the failure of Coolest Cooler, which was supposed to sell an elaborate cooler and got a lot of publicity but delivered only 40,000 of the 60,000 they promised. Do the math: 20,000 people paid $200 and are now getting nothing, or at least they'll get $20 due to a state settlement if there's any money available, But for its part, Kickstarter is telling the backers who got ripped off that... well, too bad, your problem, we're not a store. Should Kickstarter avoid liability when a project turns out to be a flop and they've already taken your money? Have you ever backed a Kickstarter or other project that ended up taking your money and not delivering? (The Oregonian/OregonLive.com)
