-
Never thought about this, but some scents go extinct. And, now that we're talking about it, wouldn't you want to smell some of the scents of your past -- that amazing hot bagel place in an alley in Paterson when you were a kid, or the odd mix of cigars and chestnuts and pretzels you'd smell walking from Macy's to Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game in December? This BBC article is about people trying to preserve scents that might be more culturally significant, from old books to the smell of a pub to certain foods that are going away. They have ways of doing that, it seems. What smells -- keep it clean, please -- would you want to preserve for future generations, or bring back from your memory? (BBC)
