The fast food industry is wondering why the only holdout among major burger chains from offering a plant-based fake burger is McDonald’s, but I don't wonder at all. Makes sense, if you're the leader, not to be first in with an Impossible Burger, because it might be a fad and we don't even know what sales are really like for other chains. There's a lot of "fake burgers are hot" chatter out there, but not a lot of sales figures to back it up. And last in doesn't always lose: Ask Apple, which has become a dominator even when it's the last to add a particular feature. You don't HAVE to be first mover. (Washington Post)
