So, this story about an antiquarian bookshop in England which tweeted out about how it hadn't sold a book one day -- calling it a "tumbleweed" day -- and was subsequently inundated with publicity and orders is an example of a) how a good viral campaign can sell product, as long as you get retweeted by celebrities like author Neil Gaiman, and b) how admitting you have a problem and not being shy about it can lead to positive results. Okay, maybe let's see how long this lasts, but it's at least a positive development. (BBC)
